It’s done. Three days of total immersion. Three days in Lux-en-Bourgogne, at the town hall that perfectly hosted this 9th edition of the TOP Trainer Training. And as these lines are being written, one certainty stands out: something has changed.
For those not yet familiar with this training, here’s the essentials: it’s not just another seminar. It’s a pedagogical experience in every sense of the word. Three days to learn how to transmit Potential Optimization Techniques (TOP®) — not by reciting a course, but by living what you teach.
Lux-en-Bourgogne: A Setting That Matches the Ambition
Lux was not chosen by chance. The town hall offers a warm, spacious environment, perfectly suited to creativity and engagement. From the very first morning, the tone was set: here, you don’t sit back and listen passively. You stand up, experiment, question, evaluate — and leave with a well-stocked toolbox.
A Complementary Team, Expertises That Come Together
The real secret of this training is the team behind it. Three facilitators with radically different backgrounds, yet perfectly complementary:
Laurent Sauriat, founder of TOP Consulting, 1st TOP® expert of the French Air Force, sophrologist, coach and mental performance coach for elite athletes and special forces. The architect of the method.
Luc Barrier, TOP® Expert and high-altitude rescue professional. Someone who knows that transmission in demanding environments leaves no room for approximation.
Stéphanie Raymond, TOP® Practitioner, educational engineer, soft-skills trainer and graphic facilitator. She brings the rigour of instructional design and the ability to make what happens in a training room visible.
From Process to Action: What We Really Worked On
The through-line of these three days? Discover, Understand, Apply. Not in the order of a manual, but in the order of lived experience.
Participants left with a strengthened ability to: design impactful learning sequences, anchored in their own TOP training environment; implement facilitation techniques to support a group through active pedagogy; identify posture elements that foster active participant engagement; apply instructional engineering methods to structure and consolidate their TOP programmes; carry out reflective work on their own facilitation by evaluating short sequences with peers.
Significant space was also given to metacognition — understanding how we learn in order to teach better — and to transferability: ensuring everyone leaves with tools directly applicable in their own context.
100% Experiential Pedagogy: Learning by Doing
No long hours of lecturing. The pedagogical methods used are participatory, alternating expository and integrative approaches. You learn by doing. You evaluate by experiencing. You integrate by sharing with peers.
Participants left with three reference guides, a trainer card deck and all digital materials — tools to keep progressing long after Lux.
TOP® Techniques at the Heart of the Training
Behind each sequence, it’s the TOP® techniques that structure the pedagogical approach. Depending on the development areas worked on, trainers draw on tools such as Mental Success Programming (PMR), Mental Repetition, Mental Pre-Activation (PAM), and personalised Relaxation — techniques in service of participants’ lasting performance.
Why This Training Is Unique
Training TOP® trainers is about much more than conveying content. It’s about supporting a shift in posture. Helping practitioners — military personnel, coaches, trainers, professionals from the association or education sectors — become facilitators capable of bringing TOP® to life for others.
This 9th edition confirmed it once again: when committed people from different backgrounds share three days around a common method, something rare happens. A community of practice grows stronger. Pedagogical confidence is built.
